Fresh Union was founded in May 2021 by Rob Murchison and Oscar Gomes, who launched the business as the UK emerged from the third lockdown. Both were well known at New Covent Garden Market and built Fresh Union around a simple idea: quality products, great service, and trusted relationships.

From a single rail arch unit and five employees, Fresh Union has grown into a multi-division group supplying customers across London and the Home Counties, with more than 2,500 product lines across fresh, frozen and prepared produce and a team of over 65 people.

At the heart of Fresh Union is an experienced, market-led team—made even stronger by the fact that many of us are family members working side by side. That creates a genuine family warmth in the business: we look after each other, we pull together, and we bring that same care and consistency to every customer we serve.

Despite its rapid expansion, Fresh Union remains deeply connected to New Covent Garden Market, with a significant proportion of produce still sourced directly from the Market and a team built largely from experienced Market people. That mix—heritage and modern ambition—defines Fresh Union today: a fast-growing group built on quality, community, and the drive to do things differently.
